日本人学校の存在意義The Significance of Japanese Schools

日本人学校の存在意義というものが、時代の流れとともに変化をしてきていることは、周知の事実です。以前は、海外に進出をした企業に派遣された社員の子女が、数年後に日本に帰国した際、日本の教育システムの中に無理なく溶け込んでいけるよう、現地においても日本と同様の教育を受けさせたいという保護者がほとんどでした。しかし、現在では、現地に定住する日本人夫婦や国際結婚をした日本人が増え、日本人としてのアイデンティティを維持したいという親の願いや、子どもに日本文化を知ってほしいという保護者の願いから日本人学校を選択し、卒業後に現地の学校へ移らせる家庭が増えるなど、日本人学校に通う子どもたちの家庭環境は大きく変化してきています。そのような中、グアム国際日本人学校がどのような教育を目指すのか、それを明確にし、保護者の皆様の信頼を得るよう努めて参ります。
